For some reason, I keep thninking Simplex.

Or, maybe it's a 1927 Olds:

This car definitely dates from pre-1910. Simplex did start in 1907 but the Simplex radiator has a much more rounded top. Here's one http://www.tomlaferriere.com/classics/speedster1.JPG

I've had a look online, and if the car in the thumb is the same as the subject car, I will say that it is indeed a Packard due to the red-centered hubs and the distinctive tow hooks. This 1910 looks very similar:

...but I cannot confirm it.

(Skywatcher's thumb shows an '09 and not a '10 by the way)
