Same capture seen on reelstreets but I don't think they have any other glimpses. No clue found on other plate sites if Spirit or Spur, but the plate info is odd for engine size and a 1981 first reg does not match detail - headlight wipers removed Oct 84 and number plate set in bumper from Oct 85. As this registration apparently applied from 09 Jul 2012, it's all a bit iffy. Suggest entering as 86 Spirit to clear it. |

I currently pay £520 per year for my Road tax and diesel roughly £1.80 per litre. @John: I believe you misunderstand me. It's very expensive indeed to have a car today. The latest price on Diesel in Sweden (Circel K, former Statoil) is 24,72 (=£1,95) (Diesel), 25,31 (=£2,00) (Diesel Plus) and 29,87 (=£2,36) (HVO 100), so it's even worse here. I've understood that taxation of a vehicle is calculated differently depending on where it is registered. In Sweden it has historicaly been calculated on weight, but today it's much more complicated as it also depends on what kind if fuel or carbonoxide emissions there is. That would explain the figure.[/quote British car taxation is fairly simple for private cars. £170 per year + £350 per year if the car costs over £40k. There are a few, insignificant add-ons, but that’s it. The first year is much dearer, but you pay when you buy the car. ^ Well, it is just a little more complicated, but nothing too earth-shatteringly tortuous. There’s a plus or minus £10 somewhere, and the £350 premium disappears when the car reaches 7 yrs old. Or 6. Or something. The view of the government at present seems to be to take their taxation from the fuel purchase, which seems fairer to me, as it’s based upon use, but don’t buy a fleet of lorries. -- Last edit: 2022-11-21 13:36:59 |
