I think the Commodore [B] was a bit later than the Rekord [D]. At least in a Dutch catalogue from 1972 it was still the Commodore [A], the [B] appeared in the one from 1973. |

I can´t find a date of introduction for the Commodore [B], in one of my 1973 yearbooks it´s mentioned that it got the new body later than the Rekord though. Looking in my book of statistics doesn´t give a definite answer either, I can´t tell which body from that. But there were a small amount of cars registered as 1972 MY, about a 100 cars in total. I guess that the [B] was released during spring and that these 1972 cars sold here have the [B] body since I´ve never heard of a 1972 Commodore [A]. This would however be one of the earliest produced since the filmimg was done during summer of 1972 ![]() |

The Commodore and Commodore GS [B] were launched at the 1972 "Salon de Genève". The GS/E version was introduced later in the year - at the "Salon de Paris", I think. |
