Series I, difficult to tell wheelbase. Position of offside sidelight (over number plate) looks strange? |

The sidelights in the wings are just there to confuse you, Chris!  Actually this is a Land-Rover 80" Series I with the "lights through the grille" which make it a 1950 model. Note the original sidelights that were mounted on the bulkhead. The left wing was probably exchanged after some unintentional cold deformation. It is from a 1952/53 model. The sidelight on the right wing was also a retrofit. I guess the dent in the wing is responsible for the strange position. -- Last edit: 2008-04-25 22:24:02 |

The lights on the wings are retrofitted orange flashing indicators, a fairly common fitment here in the UK. The original bulkhead mounted sidelights are still there and are just visible behind the right hand mirror and the scout's arms on the left side of the Land Rover. |
