Interesting shot. We've got two Corvairs and two VW bugs back to back. And yes, it's a 68 Chevelle SS....nice. -- Last edit: 2008-03-30 21:48:32 |

I would like to have seen that 68 Chevelle fishtail around and go driving with the Mustang and Charger. I'm sure that 396 would have enough to play with that 390 Ford and 440 Magnum. |

YES, that is a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 as i was the owner of that car. I bought/leased it from Les Vogel Chev. in S.F. I worked for Warner Bros./Solar Prod. as a driver/go-fer, & i was 1 of Steve Mc Queen's drivers. 1 of my fringe benefits was i was able to drive both the Mustang & Charger when they needed gas, needless to say, i took them out on the new freeway 280 for a spin first !!!!!! I was paid $15 & 2 tanks of gas as payment for them "renting" my car to be part of the chase scene, if you watch the chase scene is very slow motion, you will see that they passed my car 3 times when on either Bay St. or Marina Blvd. Now, please be close to the bathroom as you might get sick, i could have bought the Mustang for $1900 cash, but didn't have the cash money !!!!!! So, 1 of my co-workers bought it, then he sold it a few years later. Then a few years ago,it sold for 3.5 million !!!!!! Any questions, i would be happy to answer. |
