^ It's not a specific Austin badge but a stylised Austin-Rover Group logo without wording. The brand was Mini. However similar badges were used in early 80s on things like the Maestro and Montego which did include the word Austin, so there's a mix of different formats out there. |

Yes for 1983 MY you're right. The Mini were badged as such during the 1982-1985 on the French & UK market (I have the original catalogues). But for 1987 MY only this badge was back to Austin, at least for the French market (seen as such on the original catalogue too). And back to 'Mini' for 1988 MY, on the same badge affixed to the grille and altered as such on the original pics. |

But these Italian registration plate seen here were not available after 1985, so it could not be a 1987 Austin Mini, if they were identified as such in the Italian market too. |
