No chrome around the rear window, and no overriders. Because of that I suggest it's a Vauxhall Wyvern [LIX]. http://vauxpedianet.uk2sitebuilder.com/vauxhall-l---wyvern-velox -- Last edit: 2022-03-18 21:36:48 |

Question - when/what was the first Belgian-build Vauxhall?? Our earliest identified is 1964 Viva HA, but, but did anything happen before then? |

That's a difficult Q. Somewhere after 1953 with the build of GM Antwerp. They didn't begin with a Vauxhall line but American products, Bedford/Opel/Vauxhall were added in the period 1954-67. Here's one in my area that's been for sale for years Link to "www.2dehands.be" and he hasn't dropped the price a bit. In fact I thought it was 4000 before. |

That sounds like a car for sale here some time ago . At least over 10 years old 1994 Buick Roadmaster , 280,000 kms and the guy was asking 10,000 $ , no possible negociation .. i wonder if he managed to sell it |

1951 Vauxhall Wyvern with maintenance booklet stamped "GM Antwerp" Link to "www.2dehands.be" Doesn't necessarily mean it's also built there. I could message the seller. |

There's a 1949-coded photo in right hand column of this Vauxpedia page about ¼ way down of lots of Wyverns and Veloxes being driven onto a ship at Tilbury "bound for GM Continental in Antwerp" - unfortunately copyrighted against downloading so I haven't snipped it. But it's the top right in this chunk. They all look fully built, suggesting no Antwerp assembly at that point. |
