May not really the best vantage view but still noteworthy, as I really want to add this one because it's the first Wuling Confero in the site, which additionally... (I know that I'm not a huge fan on posting topics in wrong places like this, but I added these reactions, just for sake because it's about on what I'm actually saying to this next text below) ...it is another anachronism; the movie takes place during and re-tells the Jakarta attacks occured in 14 January 2016, but the Confero was released here about a year later after that event, which was on 2 August 2017, coinciding with Wuling's official entry to the Indonesian market. Despite of that, this doesn't affect the movie's entire plot timeline since it's just one of those minor background vehicles passing by. Typical to the film industry, the filmmakers can't deal with these because getting rid of anachronistic background vehicles that were not a part of the film set isn't one of their agendas. Essentially a rebadged Hongguang S1 for "global" markets, at least starting exclusively here in Indonesia. A fun fact from Wikipedia that the Hongguang S1 was discontinued in China around early 2017 due to low demand, long before the Confero was launched here. I could possibly assume that Wuling relocated the Hongguang S1's production to Indonesia at the time when it was pulled out from the Chinese market, which we'll never know the timeline for that. Currently, the Confero is still alive here, having enjoyed good sales figures, which able to help Wuling expanding their Indonesian business and expanding their line-up here, such as those two rebadged Baojun models (Baojun 730-based Cortez and Baojun 530-based Almaz). It received a commercial variant called the Formo in late 2018, and received its facelift in March 2021. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuling_Hongguang_S1#Indonesia -- Last edit: 2024-07-30 12:50:11 |
