KNM plate = Nov/Dec 51, KHM July-Nov 55. I prefer KNM here. |

An early Mk 1, perhaps. This less than pristine example went off the road, tipped up and apparently suffered spontaneous combustion. I remember reading in the Ralph Thoresby column of 'Motor' magazine how easy it was to execute rapid 180° U-turns in this model. Rather him than me, getting skittish with a 20+ cwt car on old cross-ply tyres. |

This Mk I self-combusted very easily in the rerun - it was the heat. You'd think the actors might have worn lighter clothing, though. Patrick Allen could have crossed the South Pole with Ran Fiennes in those thick slacks. Dr Peter Cushing felt obliged to keep his jacket on. And goodness knows what Ken Cope was perspiring to stain his shirt in odd places. |
