rjluna2 ◊ 2008-03-04 03:18	I found it!! I found it!! With absence of side trim could be a rare 1976 Chevrolet Impala S, model L69. This was suppose to replace with now discontinued Chevrolet Bel Air series. Only 18,265 were made before they dropped that style. I had to double check with George H. Dammann, 75 years of Chevrolet book to confirm my finding!
Ddey65 ◊ 2008-03-04 04:21	Ah, yes. George Dammann and Tad Burness have always had good info. You know that 1976 Chevy Impalas (and Impala S's) looked like 1975 Chevy Caprice's don't you? And that 1975 Impalas and Bel Airs looked like 1974 Caprices. -- Last edit: 2008-03-04 04:22:09

montrosepatriot ◊ 2016-03-24 04:31	the Impala and Caprice had different noses - 1974 was the first year where the noses looked alike (Bel Airs and Impalas had the blacked out grill while the Caprice had chrome headlight trim; 1975 Bel Air and Impala had the 1974 Caprice nose while the Caprice switched to alternate front sheetmetal (with the casket-esque nose with round headlights - the 75 Caprice nose was used with the 76 Impala and the Caprice ended up with the square headlights in lieu of the rounded headlights (same sheetmetal with the 1975 model)
