Nothing found for Belgian build TKs, but there might have been something going on: - there were Belgian build Vauxhalls (Viva, Victor) from mid-60s - found another Belgian beer wagon on a TK (newer lights, different superstructure) - "Bedford TK Bavik beertransporter Brewevery in Bavikhove near Harelbeke, Belgium - we have a Belgian bodied 1969 TK fire engine by Somati-Bachert Maybe not what we'd call local assembly, but perhaps supply of chassis cabs for assorted local bodywork?? 4 Belgian TKs shown on this page - they look fairly normal types, but the 2 box trucks are described as coachbuilt. And here's a (RHD UK plate) TK organ truck with "a Frans Decap 74-key band organ. The Decap family is one of Belgium’s organ-building dynasties" which might have been similarly Belgian constructed. |

"The vehicles built in factory 1 were Vauxhall and Opel cars and Bedford trucks. On top of the assembly activities, the import of American built cars (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Cadillac) which equally pass through the assembly line to be finished and conditioned for sale. For example, the vehicles that arrive from the United States are not equipped with a main beam headlights system, and this mechanism is installed in Antwerp." Link to "books.google.be" |

We were here - https://www.smmk.de/pages/de/willkommen.php last month. Many examples of such mechanical music for your delight and delectation, but no Bedford TKs. You see, we do sometimes leave England! Unfortunately I missed my intended visit to Wuppertal, to ride the overhead railway, so it’s still on the bucket list. -- Last edit: 2022-07-18 15:22:22 |
