Knots was always filmed between September and May and American cars are built by model year, from October through August. The episode shown AIRED in March, 1982. Knots was known for debuting new model year cars, even though they were just coming out to the public during filming. That said, this car could either be a 1981 or 1982, as there were no significant differences and, in those cases, General Motors used to to switch over model years any time between July and October.
