Correct. Chrysler originally marketed it as a stand-alone marque for the 1960 season then folded it into Plymouth as a model for 1961. Similar to what Ford did with the Comet for '60 and '61 before making it a Mercury and to Continental in '56 to '59. Packard tried to do this in 1956 with the Clipper but changed their mind at mid-season and retroactively called all '56 Clippers "Packard Clippers", even shipping out free Packard nameplates to install on the earlier '56 Clippers! |
