Agree. Seems US sales of coupe and HPE stopped in 80/81 before this updated grille appeared in Europe and Lancia disappeared from US by end of 81. However Zagato produced their own batch of Spiders for US in 82, after production for Europe had ended - I'm not totally sure, but this 82 batch may have been the only Spiders ever built with this 81+ grille?? |

yep, found some said to be 1982 with this grille https://www.deadclutch.com/2018/07/24/1982-lancia-beta-zagato-spyder/ ( sadly, VIN comes back as null null and plate is now on a 2021 Sienna XLE according to Carfax, not really a classic ) https://www.mecum.com/lots/PA0817-294444/1982-lancia-zagato/ 1981 seems to have a different one https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1981-lancia-beta-3/ ( 1981 Lancia Zagato according to Carfax ) also found this 1982 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1982-lancia-beta-2/ possible that the really early 1982 ones had the previous grille ? .. ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-04-17 06:51:03 |

Great find! ![]() Agree with dsl, US 1982s should be the only Beta Spider/Zagato with the updated front. Production of European models ended in May 1981, you can find a few EU specs with this front but they are 1980-81 ones updated (plus a couple of US specs ones with Euro bumpers). It's also possible that early US 82 had the older front, or likely there were leftovers of previous models. According to this: https://viva-lancia.com/betadante/betanumeri/ it seems that this final batch (2000 fuel injected S4) consisted of 791 units, possibly with both fronts.. So I'd say 1982 only Zagato [828 BS.1FL2) ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-04-17 12:04:40 |

Code box not big enough - will only take 828 BS.1FL. |
