Aus built soft-tops throughout the 50s from MM through Series II and into 1000, starting with Tourer and then becoming Convertible. As far as I can tell, they followed UK sequences and dates, so Tourer to Convertible change would be mid-late 51, within MM phase. This one is a mongrel with newer boot, but unless it's a decapitated saloon, I think it's a Tourer (so MM) with flappy hood and no rear side windows. And is rear bumper the very early format still showing the tooling join from the 4" widening?? |

No it isn’t, and the car has a long bonnet, as far as I can see, meaning post tourer. It also has Morris Minor script on the bonnet ,which the tourer didn’t according to the pictures in Presnell’s book. -- Last edit: 2021-04-06 00:20:09 |

Didn't realise there was a change in bonnet length - I'll try and remember to add that to my mental list. |

Looking at the whole thing it seems mongrel is not far off, and, unless they did things differently in Australia, the apparent dissonance between the long bonnet and the tourer style hood might suggest cut down saloon. |
