This bright yellow Corvette was originally Dan Tanna's (Robert Urich) car. Part way into the "Pilot" TV Movie ("High Roller") the Vette was torched in the desert by bad guys, and then Tanna acquired his famous trademark red 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible! -- Last edit: 2009-11-07 08:56:56 |

Awesome pics...the last thumbnail, as Dan says in the "Pilot", looks like a charred banana! |

At least they didn't really destroy it, just looks like it's covered in dirt. |

Yeah...I'm not sure what they did to make it look charred?? It's been a few year since I've watched the "Pilot". I'll have to do that sometime soon. I hope they didn't actually burn it and just put dirt or some kind of "gunk" on it to make it look burned. What year do you think this Vette was? -- Last edit: 2012-07-07 07:04:53 |

If it really was burned, the tires would have been completely gone. |

And the rest of the car, too. It's just plastic. |

True...but maybe they got the fire put out before it engulfed the whole car??. Was this Vette around a 63-66? |

There was no fire in or around the car. They have smeared it with soot, that's all. The chrome is still glossy and the windscreen not broken, so no burning at all. |

In reality of course no burning...but we're talking "supposedly" in the show. In the "Pilot" Dan's Vette was supposedly torched by bad guys, and that opened the door, so-to-speak, for him getting his red T-Bird. In real-life it does appear they covered the Vette in dirt, or soot, or some kind of "gunk" to make it appear to have been torched for the show. Does anyone know, or have a good idea, of what year this Vette was? |

1963. Grates in the hood. |

Thank you, 4x4peru, for FINALLY answering that question, LOL! I figured around a 63 or 64, but wasn't sure. |
