UK never officially got this Kadett, only its Astra twin. But we ended up with lots of them because UK prices were set much higher than other EU countries and EU regulations allowed buyers to buy UK spec cars in whatever country they wanted at that country's price. So for many years many UK buyers did that, and several brokerage firms sprung up to arrange these deals. Did not usually show any difference in make or model compared to UK-supply, except that as no Vauxhalls were offered in Europe, the cars always came through as Opels. |
