We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided FORD ZEPHYR V4 1962 Registration number: XAS 546 Body type: Saloon Colour: Blue Date of first registration: October 1962 But it's somehow got a Z6 grille .... |

And it says it has a V4 engine. That cannot be correct as I have a very stright 1962 six cylinder in my 1960 Ford Zephyr. The V-engines weren't introduced until the Mk IV Zephyr's. But having that said, I've seen a Mk II Zephyr fitted with a Granada V6 engine, and axles. -- Last edit: 2020-09-28 23:29:18 |

What does the engine in the second thumb look like? They said it was a 6 cylinder in the episode, but plate details don't really agree with that, it does get heavily mistreated in the episode so maybe more than one used. |

Don’t believe the rubbish from the DVLA is what I say. The car is a Z6 from the pictorial evidence. A Z4 in police use would be a waste of space, except for catching Austin A30s. |

@Sandie: That is the stright six, without doubt. The four was much shorter, and the V6 even shorter. Here's a picture of a Mk3 I6 https://uploads.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/ford/11305125.jpg with the flat air filter container on top. |

Not only that, have you ever heard of a 1703cc V4, they were 1996cc in the Zephyr, 1663cc in the small Transit. 1703cc was the Consul Mk2 I4 engine. -- Last edit: 2020-09-29 12:12:20 |

I think this needs to be merged onto this page (it's older): /vehicle.php?id=35312 |

OK agreed. We probably should lump a few Z6s together and this page looks a good home for them. |
