Has TR5 grille and bonnet badge, but no side trim/indicator and TR5s never really had wires.`So a mongrel. |

I hate to disagree, but I'd say there are side lights/repeaters clearly visible on the wings (driver's side is more obvious). I'd go even further and say that this is a TR250 as it appears to have the silver "racing stripe" across the bonnet and down to the wheel arches. From what I've read a few 250s were indeed sold in Europe. Wire wheels were a factory option on both TR5 and TR250. |

OK - I can see TR250-ish details now you mention it. European TR250s is a new one on me - maybe temporary residents from US bases in Spain at the time, destined eventually for US when tours of duty ended?? |

US military would be my first guess, too. However, with those non-EEC countries you can never tell for certain. I know of a MGB GT and a Sunbeam Alpine GT that are fully US-spec but were both sold new in Switzerland. And since this TR4A /vehicle_1426047-Triumph-TR4A-1965.html from the same movie clearly sports the large US-style turn signals, maybe Spain generally received US-spec Triumphs. Or they just got whatever was available... |
