The Tiger as shown above was ridden Aaliyah and was part of the chase scene with Jet Li where he forced her to dump the bike. the production company had or commissioned three BMW 1150GSA and three Triumph Tigers which were bought at Echo Cycle in Edmonton. the story goes from the guy who ultimately ended up with the bikes said that they wrecked one BMW and two Tiger's. The last remaining Tiger was driven by the new owner the next spring where he blew it up put the center connecting rod through the block. he then contacted Triumph in Britain and after conversing back and forth triumph told him that he had to ship the engine to them and pay the shipping. Triumph said they would tear it down and if a manufacturing fault caused the failure they would send him a new engine. well turns out the conrod casting had a grain of sand in it which caused the failure. the bike was put back together and a friend bought it with just over 300 km. then I was able to convince my friend after a couple of years to sell me the bike which I still have and it is still in great shape. What I am looking for is documentable genealegy for this bike. I first need to contact the shop that sold the bike then go to the stunt company to confirm it's use. If there is anyone out there that could help me out it would be much appreciated. Cheers |
