By the front seats ( the 5 Automatic 1300 had the headrests integrated - not separated ) and the rear badge, I think this is not an Automatic 1300 version. |

The R5 is probably a GTL with aftermarket vinyl roof (I didn't notice the details that Rpcm put forward, but I'm sure he is rigt). I'd say the 2CV AK 400 in the background is more interesting than the one listed: this one is a version without the rear side window, introduced in January 1974 and much less common than the vitrée version. |

In April 1981, the 5 Automatic 1300 received a 1400cc engine and became 5 Automatic. In the process, it also got a new rear badge ( it had received new seats with separated headrests in 1980 ). The bumpers and side protections continued black and the roof remained vinyl-covered. Here's one of the 1981+ cars where these details can be seen: http://www.renaultclassiccarclub.com/P9130008.JPG By what is possible to understand of the badge, I agree it seems to be a 5 GTL. -- Last edit: 2007-12-01 02:11:04 |
