It had done 90 odd thousand miles when I bought it, so I’m not surprised it’s gone. |

Problem with them cars and the mk2 was Banger racers loved them...you where pretty lucky to save a mk1 from the breakers yard that raced them.already stripped the same day...good for parts to save another .but alot of hard to get body panels gone to waste because of it, even more so now. |

It was in the days when I had a building society to support, so I bought the sort of cars nobody else wanted. It suited me as it was big but not expensive to run, and the breakers weren’t yet in the frame because it was only 3 years old but high miles. I kept it for a year or so and sold it to another bloke with a family. I also had an M reg Capri, bought for £70 with a one week mot, which I had sorted with 2 new strut tops, so I had time to look around. Got an immaculate MkV Cortina 2 litre GL Estate, midnight blue, I kept that until promotion got me a company car. -- Last edit: 2020-06-23 12:53:59 |
