1956 Aston Martin DB3S, chassis 115 at Palm springs, Nov 57, owned by Joe Lubin, driven by Bill Love, 11th. Shelby in foreground won (#98, John Edgar's Maserati 450S #4505=>4506), #211 behind is Edgar's Ferrari 410 Sport (Richie Ginther, finished 6th). "Chassis DB3S/115 is one of twenty production DB3S built by the factory. Delivered to Joe Lubin on 26 March 1956, 115 made its racing debut at Bakersfield on the 20th May. Painted in the distinctive American racing colours of white with a blue stripe, 115 quickly established itself as the most recognised of all the competition cars in the thriving California race scene. Lubin continued to campaign the car during 1957 with Richie Ginther, Rob Oker and Bill Love sharing the driving." from [url=https://www.fiskens.com/cars-for-sale/Aston-Martin-DB3S/9480.htm]recent UK sale listing[/i], with 248 XUX UK plates. |
