Despite the fact, that this here is a fake, in West Germany all plates were changed after the 1.7.1956 up to end of 1958. And when the owner moves to annother place outside the county/town, the vehicle is registrated, or the vehicle is sold to outside, it got a new registration. Just since 2015 it's possible to keep the registration, when you move, and since 2020 it's possible to keep the registration, when you buy a vehicle in annother town/county.
