Looks like a Seat 133... |

It is one (Link to "upload.wikimedia.org") but what is it doing in Egypt? |

@Bravada: in Egypt you can see a lot of strange cars, especially older ones. A lot of them were imported as used cars from everywhere. So why not a Seat 133? Perhaps it's an Egyptian made Fiat/Seat. When I've been there in 2000, I've heard, that the most Fiats in Egypt were assembled there. Unfortunately I haven't seen (as a NSU-fan) any "Ramses" |

Given that FSO assembled almost the entire Fiat lineup at one time, it is not impossible El Nasr cobbled together some 133s... |

If I understand it right, the Spanish built Seat 133 enjoyed success in Egypt (but wasn't built there): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEAT_133 |

/vehicle_65260-Seat-133-1976.html There is only a question what is the make in this case, usually abroad of Spain they were marketed by Fiat and labelled 'Fiat 133 by Seat'. Btw. it looks like a 'Especial' version or something like that. |

According to the comment of DatsunZ in vehicle_65260-Seat-133-1976.html , the car was produced in Egypt as well... |

Do remember that El-Nasr was (and I guess still is) for the most part a low-tech SKD assembly plant, so they could assemble small amounts of just about anything. |

@weasel: why a special model? It looks very much like a 133. If in Egypt cars are looking a bit strange or if their body-structure doesn't seem original, it's the nearest idea, that this is a result of the Egyptian way of driving - and the Egyptian way of repairing. |

@Ingo The front end is grey and not yellow like the entire body, better equiped versions were painted this way (for example Especial), but I don't know how it was with the Egyptian model. -- Last edit: 2007-10-27 19:06:51 |

@Ingo: I suppose Weasel is referring to the light plastic front that makes this the luxury version of the Standard 133. Still the question how to list this... El Nasr 133 L ??? |

According to article in "Motor" magazine, the production of 133 was moved in 1984 to Egypt, and the make was El Nasr. -- Last edit: 2007-10-27 19:16:36 |
