The 1972 movie (pilot) is NOT titled 'The Wedworth Townsend Act'. That is the title of a 2-part episode in season 5. The title of the movie is 'Emergency!'. (regardless of what the DVD's released by Universal state as that is an error). -- Last edit: 2012-05-28 18:00:15 |

Indeed there is such a title for the pilot episode: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067046/ |

You will note that on the imdb site that it is taken from the DVD. The DVD is in error. Yes Universal made a mistake. One of many on that particular DVD release. Per the script (that I have actually seen) and its revisions, the title of the movie is 'Emergency!'. Also per Jim Page the LACO BC and Technical Consultant to the movie and series. The Wedworth-Townsend Act (Universal even misspelled the Senators name on the DVD) is the title of the season 5 2-part episode that had J&R reminising about the startup of the PM program and using footage from the movie in flashback format. |

You are quite correct about the mis-spelling of the Wedworth-Townsend Act as the Universal described. No wonder that I couldn't find this at the Wikipedia. With your correct spelling, I found this: From the Emergency! pilot episode: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wedsworth-Townsend_Act But, I find all the vehicles were made 1972 model year and earlier listed here. From the California Emergency Medical Services Authority: Link to "en.wikipedia.org" And finally, from Paramedic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paramedic#Pre-hospital_emergency_care Are you still not convinced this is shown as a the pilot episode? -- Last edit: 2012-05-29 21:00:29 |

Wiki and even this site and others such as imdb are only as accurate as the people who enter data. The 1972 movie (pilot) is NOT titled 'The Wedworth Townsend Act'. I repeat: That is the title of a 2-part episode in season 5. The title of the movie is 'Emergency!'. I should know - I have talked to people that made and filmed the movie (I have seen the script) and the rest of the series.. This is not the place however to debate the issue. |

This is a 1965 Crown 1250 gpm pumper w/ 500 gal tank (s/n F-1400 - shop # 49215) with Engine 51 magnets over the Engine "60" lettering. This apparatus is fully restored at the County of Los Angeles Fire Museum. |
