really random in both position and shape.. should be square and on the right side, between the wheel and tail lights.. ![]() theorically should be GT but wrong tail lights .. -- Last edit: 2019-12-18 17:41:39 |

The exploding car is a standard Mustang, not a GT. Bumper, grille and side cladding are different. |

no trim would make it 1989 but lacks the 25th anniversary badge...and has LX tail lights... leaving as 1987 |

License plate CA 5ZAZ283 is attached to a '88 GT. |

VIN 1FABP42E4JF239737. P42 in the Vin would tell us if it's a GT or LX. |

of all the things that look wrong, i thought the plate was fake.. but does not explains the lack of stripe insert and LX tail lights... i won't fight against the VIN but i'd like some answers that sadly we can't have... -- Last edit: 2022-07-20 09:06:28 |

found what might be the LX lights answer : on some forums , seems like some just prefer them to the GT's ones |

@dhill cb7: What site do you use to get that precise vin breakdown? Is it only for Fords? |

@jetta normally I look to see if I have the VIN placard decoding sheets saved on my computer. If not I have websites I bookmarked that have the VIN cards displayed. Then I manually decode. Here is a great Mustang site for almost every year if not all of them; Mustang Specs |
