Mid to late '80s GM Cavalier/Rekord? Maybe the Korean Daewoo version?? |

I think it's an Opel Ascona (C) or possibly a Vauxhall Cavalier Mk.2. The filming locations are USA and China, which is no help unless GM in the States marketed a clone as well. The Daewoo equivalent - the Espero - had a completely different body. |

Looks to me to be GM-E J-car Ascona/Cavalier. The J-car was a GM 'world-car' chassis also produced as US versions from 1982 Chevrolet Cavalier, Pontiac 2000, Cadillac Cimarron, Oldsmobile Firenza and Buick Skyhawk with a completely different range of grilles/headlights. Without seeing more detail...... Opel Ascona (C) (Vauxhall or Holden is unlikely this has LHD wipers.) -- Last edit: 2007-10-14 16:58:58 |

If this scene was filmed in the US (which the yellow road markings would suggest), could it be a Brazilian-made Chevrolet Monza from Mexico? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Monza#Brazil |

Yes, I agree it's a Brazilian Chevrolet Monza. With the help of a magnifying glass it's possible to see the specific multiple-vent front spoiler that identifies the body introduced in May 1985. By the general trim, I would say it's a SL/E. |
