Just saw this movie, and this is not a Panhard, but one of the Mexican built copies of the Cadillac-Gage V-100, known as the Diesel Nacional DN-5: http://rtvmodeler.com/MEX/tierra/mex-33.jpg The vehicle is actually built off a Dodge 4x4 chassis, despite looking very similar to the V100. The APC that is used for the interior shots is a Diesel Nacional DN-3, which is larger and has more viewports. http://rtvmodeler.com/MEX/tierra/mex-32.jpg |

Diesel Nacional = DINA? http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_Nacional (bottom of page, link to official website of DINA) Ah, in English: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DINA_S.A. And here: http://www.defesanet.com.br/rv/vtrbld1/vtrbld.htm (first picture on the left) And here: http://rtvmodeler.com/MEX/tierra/carrosmx.htm And probably the best link: http://images.google.nl/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=nl&q=DINA ![]() -- Last edit: 2007-11-04 13:28:18 |

Only the engine is a DINA-Cummins, the turret follows a MOWAG design, the chassis is (probably) a Dodge and all was made at the Military State Factories (Dirección General de Industria Militar). The picture shows a DN-III model introduced in 1979 which was known under the name SEDENA 1000. SEDENA is the acronym for Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Secretariat of National Defense). So far I cannot say what brand name, if any, was used. My suggestion (for the moment) would be to use SEDENA 1000 [DN-III] (1979). |
