British-bodied 1929 or 30 Chevrolet. Hard to tell one from the other as it doesn't have the curved windscreen which would separate the latter from the former. |

Registration CI 1202 Make CHEVROLET Model UNKNOWN Description Engine Capacity 3500 Irish plate from Laois, likely 1927 or 1928 as first 1929 number in the series (started Dec 1903) was 1371. My book of Irish things only says very small Chevy assembly 1936-39 - may have been as low as 12 cars, possibly Standard Sedans. Another book says English builds were 21.7 HP 1924-27 in Hendon, dying out after GM bought Vauxhall in 1925 and followed by importing Canadian chassis for English bodying (eg by Fisher) in various styles for a couple of years until 1929 or thereabouts. |

It is quite possible that the registration plate is not exactly contemporary with the car. |
