Early Capri GT (1969-72), date unknown when J sales started but it matches the wiki comment that 1.6 GT and 2.0 GT were sold (therefore UK-supplied as Germany did not offer 1.6 at this stage; also not an Aus-build as they did not have dummy side vents). |

If sold new in Okinawa, it would be left hand drive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/730_(transport) If sold new in Okinawa before May 1972, it would be "made for the Ryukyu Islands". "Made for the Ryukyu Islands" seems to defeat our list of drop-down initials so J is probably as good as it gets. No sidemarkers so made for US is unconvincing. I've been trying to work out which blue it is to estimate a date. If it's metallic, probably the infamous Blue Mink which like some other Ford metallics (also Silver fox) in 1968-69 started peeling away in sheets like clingfilm, so was dropped for 1970. There was also a less common 1971-72-ish flat blue which could match (and is my hunch here), but can't remember the name. |

Not neccessarily sold new in Japan. As my Japanese friend told me, there on Okinawa there were running several cars, often Ford and Opel, brought there by the US-GIs from their previous time in West Germany. His father's first car, a 1959 Fotd Taunus [P2] was such a German import. |
