This view from Praia do Flamengo (Flamengo Beach), with the Texaco gas station at the end. Today the water is some 500 meters away, altough is still Praia do Flamengo, an internal beach on the Guanabara Bay. There is no more gas station, only high buildings as high as the one you can see, closing the view from Morro da Viúva, (Widow's Hill), forever. Bob Dieck |
