Rear license plates were not black on yellow in 1967. |

OK. When was that coloured version introduced? (I put 1967 as first possible year only.) |

They're mandatory since 1973. But older cars can keep their old black plates. |

But older cars can have them changed as well? |

Looks like an M reg, which means 1973/1974. |

This one takes some explaining. In Oct 69 the poverty-spec Alpine version of the Rapier was launched with minimal trim, single carb engine and so on. The unique boot trim on the Alpine was always as here - 2 separate groups of horizontal bars. Now comes the confusing bit - in Oct 74, the Alpine trim was upgraded to Rapier level - more chrome, sports wheels etc - so became just a slow Rapier with a different boot trim. It was then dropped in August 75. This is therefore the rare 1975my Alpine, not a Rapier. Can I have my cocoa now please! Edit: the only Arrow-based Alpine we've got so far (plus a US-badged Alpine which is a Rapier at /vehicle.php?id=319748). -- Last edit: 2010-09-24 00:15:22 |
