This cab is approximately of 1935/36 origin, and sports a Strachan body manufactured especially for The London General Cab Company (Note the small oval window in the rear of the hood).At the time of the filming this cab was still owned by London General (It has since been sold) and of course the registration number was added specifically for the film. Does anyone know its present whereabouts or registration number? 'Carry On Cabbie' was (and still is) a great film. Jim Stringer (Vintage Austin Register) |
