Probably a Clyde short crossing ferry, maybe Yoker or Renfrew.

Going for the blue saloon, which I think is 1959+ Consul Mk2?? Red roadster on left - Singer?? Centre line is Minor Traveller, Minor saloon and J2 minibus possibly in British Railways colours. A35 on right, then Squire [100E]??

Not convinced abiut the Consul. It looked to me at first like a Mercedes but vertical tail lights dob't match. It looks to me a 2 door sedan, and in this case a UK Ford is not questionable.
Why not a German visitor's Ford Taunus 12M or 15M G13 ?

The numberplate looks GB format. Farina Oxford?

with such wrap-around rear window not a BMC Farina. Very few German Fords were exported to Great Britain if I am not wrond.

Do you agree it looks like a 2 door sedan judging by the long size of the front door and the short rear side window ?

You may be right on the two door saloon, but which one? We did get some German Fords, the owner of the motor bike shop in our little town when I was a teenager had a 20M Estate Car which was British registered and rhd iirc. I think one of my pals paid for it, the number of engine spares he bought for his BSA Bantam.

My first thought was A60 Cambridge in that very Austin shade of Persian blue. But film date excludes any ADO38, the fins are not pointy enough for ADO9, and as said above the rear window is wrong. Not a Westminster or 6/99 either, so nothing BMC. I thought about Victor [F] but doesn't work, and it's not a Rootes-jewel. But the more I look at it, the better a Consul Mk2 fits, particularly the soft fins and window shape; it's not a 2 door saloon with short side window if you look at the waistline instead of the roofline, and the curved pillar of a Consul explains why.

Details for a Consul Mk2 is very convincing, as you describe them dsl.

dsl and johnfromstaff both convinced me. Now I see that it is not a two door but I did actually have that impression !
