1985+ side indicators. Either a Mayfair with tweaks (black alloys and roof), or a 1985 Ritz edition; UK Ritz was 1985, silver with red coachline, wheel covers instead of alloys, 2000 made and as far as I can tell were one of the last batches before side indicators. But there were also 1725 made specifically for Italy, and it's possible they followed production of UK batch, so could have had side indicators in the new format (previous made-for-I Minis had different indicator position further forward), and maybe added the alloys??? So tempted to go for Italian batch Ritz, but can't prove it. Any info from local experts?? |

Dear dsl, I can't actually recall any version called "Italian batch Rotz". There were many "British Open Classic" but I can only remember them in British Racing green metallic other in Burgundy metallic. The fact I can't recall does NOT mean they were not imported. Could they have here another name ? |

My Big Book Of Minis is fairly clear that the Ritz was UK and Italy only, with no mention of different names. In several other cases where EU editions had different names from UK, this is clearly highlighted so I'm tempted to trust the statement that 1725 Ritzes went to Italy. But not sure if these were exactly same as UK batch or whether the visible differences in this picture - particularly the side indicators - are a problem. If you think this is a Mayfair, I'd accept that. |
