What are they used for. |

The British railway companies used them for inner city transportation of goods from the station to the customer. They had a very small turning circle, an automatic coupling for the semi-trailer and were therefore very well suited for the task. We had same type of vehicle in France named Far (Chenard & Walker) , 3 wheels tractor with automatic coupling for trailer. There were used by the SNCF /Sernam subsidiary till the middle of the 70's...I don't know if there is any film showing one of them? I like this type of lorries... |
