The location is Staffordshire Potteries from the design of the architecture, but the barrels are a bit confusing, unless it’s raw materials of some kind going inwards. The truck could have come from Warks, no doubt following the route taken by me about 68 years ago. It looks like a Thornycroft for sure, but it looks older than 1948, whatever the plate says. Radiator looks to be from about 1937 I guess previously they were more stylised rounded on Thornycrofts both top and bottom? If its 1937-1945 probably 6-7 tonner likely a Trusty? Compare with a lighter 1937 Sturdy 4 tonner |

1937 to 1939 Rigid six-wheelers None listed for sale in UK (previously Stag only listed as six-wheeler in 1936) Four wheelers: Dandy 3-ton Handy 2-ton Sturdy 4-ton Trusty 6-7 and 8 tons CM listings and Data Summary of Thornycroft Lorries listed for UK sale 1933-1939 Link to "www.hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk" The BRS truck in the movie I think has been re-cabbed after WWII, the extended front wings to the sides of the radiator are seen.
