Thornycroft ?

The location is Staffordshire Potteries from the design of the architecture, but the barrels are a bit confusing, unless it’s raw materials of some kind going inwards. The truck could have come from Warks, no doubt following the route taken by me about 68 years ago.

It looks like a Thornycroft for sure, but it looks older than 1948, whatever the plate says. Sturdy?

Radiator looks to be from about 1937 I guess previously they were more stylised rounded on Thornycrofts both top and bottom?

If its 1937-1945 probably 6-7 tonner likely a Trusty?

Compare with a lighter 1937 Sturdy 4 tonner

Trusty seems to be an eight wheeler, but name could have spanned more than one design.

CM listings and Data Summary of Thornycroft Lorries listed for UK sale 1933-1939 Link to "www.hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk"

The BRS truck in the movie I think has been re-cabbed after WWII, the extended front wings to the sides of the radiator are seen. The radiator is deeper (lower at the front and larger) than the 1937 Sturdy but the same flat design. Either prewar or wartime production I believe.

Wartime manufactured Thornycroft Sturdy 6-ton available in early 1940s...

The 1939 Thornycroft Trusty 6-7 ton had the older style radiator if this example is typical...

The best identification is that movie vehicle is probably a wartime Sturdy available for essential users from 1941 with either a utility or post-war replacement cab.
