Not quite. Minor had different tailgate pressing. This looks wider ½-Ton Pickup, early-mid 50s, but not sure which version (Oxford MO?? Cowley Series III?? Or??). |

The half ton tailgate pressing looked similar to the Minor’s, but a little bigger. The practise of putting names on tailgates must be local to antipodean production. All the commercial vehicles based on the mid range models were called Cowley, the position of the rear lights looks odd, the Series II/III vehicles had vertical tail lamp clusters like the Series II Saloon. -- Last edit: 2018-04-09 17:52:05 |

Again am assuming NZ rather than Aus for location and build, but can be switched if I'm wrong. |

That is not a New Zealand plate and I can't match it with anything Australian either. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Australia -- Last edit: 2018-04-09 22:46:36 |

The story is set in Western Australia. Filming locations were in Tasmania and New Zealand according to the IMDB. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2547584/locations |

Yes I read that. Without actually seeing the movie I can't be sure which bit is filmed where. I presume the shots with the Mk1 Zephyr and the Morris pickup are NZ because the Zephyr has a blue trailer towing light. The house is clad with what we call 'ship lap' boards. -- Last edit: 2018-04-09 22:56:55 |
