Matford V8 F-82-A 13 cv 1938 with the two piece windshield and fine grille bars .Appears to be a trunkless ( fastback) sedan ,quite battered by resistance fighters.But this was a glorious end , not unlike the numerous post wwII french stock car races in which so many Matfords ended. |

"Matford"..a combination of the names "Mathis" and "Ford"...Ford drew up an agreement in 1934 that their vehicles in France would only be built by the Mathis company..the particular V8 in the pic was built from 1936 to 1939, those models from 1938 had vee shaped windscreens....."mathis" became known as Ford S.A.F in 1947..in 1954 it was taken over by Simca. |
