Metallic paint was only available for the upmarket models during the years 1975 to 1977, and also worked as identification for those models. This is without doubt a 1975-77 Volvo 244 GL Link to "www.volvotips.com" (please have a look at the cover, and pages 10, 11 and 18). Made for the U.S. because of the read lights on the rear wing.
