Ford didn't have permission to use Olympic logos and the like, so they were careful not to include any of that in the advertising or anywhere on the vehicle, but still, they were banking on that recognition from would-be buyers. Oddly enough, Canada got Sprint package Fords for '72, as well, but the patriotic USA design on the rear quarter panel was replaced by a maple leaf.
