Very low seats indeed, but my favorite of all the cars they had.

dsl ◊ 2021-04-03 04:45	Article on Saint's cars in Classic & Sportscar May 2021 issue says the producers originally approached Jag for a Mk.X saloon, but were refused. Then one of the crew saw a P1800 in a showroom, so they went for that instead. 71 DXC arrived as a Jensen-built ex-demonstrator, and has an aerial on the driver side front wing. As above and comments here, it survives and has been restored. 71 DXC was issued Feb 62 onwards, with RHD production starting March 62, so it was a very early example for filming in summer 62. Then in 1963, Volvo supplied the 1800 S 77 GYL (a Nov 63 plate) - referred to as Swedish-built which isn't totally accurate as they were still being mainly built at Linwood (unchanged from previous arrangement, with the difference being that Jensen were no longer involved and assembly now took place in Sweden, so "more Swedish than before" but a Scottish-Swedish hybrid) - and there was a cross-over period when both cars were used for filming some episodes, as CBH explains on the other page. 77 GYL was part of the 'Cars of the Stars' Motor Museum display at Keswick until it closed in 2011, and is now believed to be owned by an enthusiast in the USA. As far as I can tell - in other words probable but unconfirmed - it had no aerial on the driver's wing.
