American LaFrance fire engine from the long hood I would say it was a six cylinder pumper - date anywhere from about 1914 to the early '20s. This model has a 5 1/2 inch bore and 6 inch stroke for about 825 c.i. There is one here in NZ. It was new in 1917 in Iowa and cost $7000 then - about three times the price of a house! |
