Karpen Furniture - This archive places it on 8th Avenue in Queens; the building doubled in size between 1920 and 1940:

That address is incorrect, however. Built in 1919, it still stands at 37-18 Northern Boulevard in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens and is notable as the headquarters of the Jim Henson Co. of Muppet fame, among others. Another tenant gave the building its current name, the Standard Motors Building. It sold in 2014 for $110 million(!). There is a farm on the roof.

Pity that they got rid of the dark stripes (bricks?) below windows.

So the brighter segment of the street (main img.) is in place of removed tram tracks visble in 1st link and this page main subejct is streetcar's direct successor in this place (one of these criticized so much by some today). GM product? :whistle:
