Not so fast and absolutely negative (by the way, local production of the van models actually ended here in 1993), which in speaking of...

Scratch on the origin from my previous claim three years ago; admin or moderators, please update the listing to... (Van / MPV class is already correct, so)

I say that because I realized upon research, my three-year-old origin claim is a contradiction, as Wikipedia correctly proves; only the first generation models were Japanese origin since those were just enlarged versions of the seventh generation Hijet, even sharing that generation Hijet's S80 codes. The second generation S90 series after this generation was the only Zebra generation to have the full Indonesian origin. Earlier models even used the Hijet nomenclature until at the start of the 90s, which we'll get to that shortly.

This request comes after holding my usual break away from this site in favor of coming back here online via this movie entry (where one of these similar vans is also listed)...

As for that negative statement; there were actually exterior design changes between model years, with the exception of the front 'DAIHATSU' hallmark badge in the center, which seemingly available in all model years as an accessory option (I haven't confirm this if it's true, currently learning on these). From what I know through research, this one is specifically a 1986-1989. 1989-1993 have their front fascias to feature an inner extension to their headlight units, so that totally ruled out. For 1988, an optional alternative grille was introduced, although negated since this one here doesn't have that option. For 1990-1993 (if stands corrects), optional dual headlights were introduced to the vans.

As for the nameplates I've mentioned earlier; 1986-1989 models were actually called the Hijet Zebra, not simply Zebra (as currently listed) until its first facelift in 1989. 1986-1989 Hijet Zebras were only available with a 1.0-litre CB three-cylinder and carry [S88] as its chassis code, as opposed to the 1989-1993 Zebra's 1.3-liter 16-valve HC-C four-cylinder and [S89] chassis code.

1989-1993 (when it was renamed simply to the Zebra and become the [S89]):
