1970, the twin black hood stripes and front spoiler indicate a 1970 Shelby Mustang |

A member of the Sweeney fan forums named "shelbysteve" owns this car, and has apparently provided a lot of (long since expired) images to back this up. Apparently it's a 1970 GT-350, and it no longer wears the registration here, as it apparently now uses a "cherished number plate" (I don't understand that concept - any Brits here care to help me?). EDIT: He also claims his car was repainted and used in a subsequent episode, listed here: /vehicle_68905-Shelby-GT-500-1970.html -- Last edit: 2012-05-05 10:15:58 |

Similar to a vanity plate, but in the UK the number must conform to British standards. Examples I've seen include JUD50N (Judson), HAR150N (Har[r]ison) and H20DWR (seen on a Range Rover in Machynlleth: dŵr is Welsh for water). Another ploy is to transfer a Northern Ireland registration, which does not indicate the age of the vehicle. |

I think that's a blue/green Reliant Scimitar GTE SE5 in background. |
