According to Wikipedia, Shanghai-Volkswagen began producing the original Santana B2 in 1985 and the Santana Variant in 1986. The facelifted Santana 2000 came in 1991. The original Santana is still made alongside the third facelift, the Santana Vista, but all Santana models will be discontinued in 2012. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Santana#Santana_.28China.29 @ingo: The current Santana brochure for your collection. ![]() Link to "vw.csvw.com" -- Last edit: 2011-11-24 01:23:42 |

@Gag: thanks for the link, but I've already reduced my literature collection strictly on K 70-stuff ![]() ![]() - and a handful of Wartburg-literature. New for me, but it's interesting for the East German Wartburg-fans, because stuff for export markets were never available in the DDR. This searching was a pleasure for me ![]() ![]() P.S. @chicomarx, @antp and the other Belgian members here: which automobilia or parts-market is most recommended in your country? Back to the Chinese Santana: I've owned some brochures, even from 1986! After I wrote a letter, Shanghai-Volkswagen has send me an envelope with brochures of the Santana, the Santana Wagon, the Audi 100 - and even the Shanghai SH760! ![]() Years later I've swapped this stuff at a meeting of the German auto-literature-collectors-club. |

P.S. These aren't Santana 2000s or any of the other facelift versions. The 2000 has a slanted front: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Volkwsagen_Santana_2000_in_Xi%27an.JPG |

As I said, Shanghai-Volkswagen began producing the Santana Variant in 1986, not 1991. |
