Supposedly the band members themselves drove the car for all of the stunts. The video was shot cheaply without permits around Los Angeles, with Spike Jonze, the band members, and a skeleton crew just running around and making up things as they went along. Meaning the stunts were actually performed on public streets illegally. The car was said to be "nearly dead" when acquired by the production, and just jumped, spun, and driven into things until they basically finished it off. |

I think this should be listed as a 1983 for the following reasons: 1) car is identified as an ‘83 on IMDb 2) LTD CVs with the carburetor 351 obviously did not have a side emblem indicating fuel injection. 3) the car in the video was obviously repainted from it’s original white, so even if it had such an emblem, it was likely removed since the paint job was poorly done. Just my thoughts |
