The production goes on in Brazil at full blast following the last update in late 2016 with the addition of start-stop system, as well as the 1st gen Tucson. The brazilian facelift is the same that took place in China in late 2013. Brazilian car magazines comparison tests state that the ix35 has a better cost-benefit ratio (and even performance, depending on the version) than the newcomer Jeep Compass, the new best-selling SUV.
